This recap is a little difficult for me, given that I was about 500 miles away from the game. But don't think I wasn't there in spirit. In fact, I was at the Museum of Modern Art with 3 other Golaso members, and we were meditating about the game. Carrie, Jeff, Devin and I focused on this picture as we chanted Golaso.....Golaso.....Golaso....
When that didn't work, we tried again with this picture:
This worked much better, given the title of the painting:
With our Golaso powers combined, we had a glimpse at a number of things occurring back at NC. Here is what we felt:
1. Damen recorded yet another shut out.
2. We had visitors on the team. Two were returning players:
And the other one loves soccer shoes:
4. Goals were scored by Amy, Lauren (2), Brett (2), Keith (2), and Adam (2).
5. Adam had the sweetest shot of all time. It was a backwards sideways bicycle shot that hit the upper 90.
Understandably, we all got very emotional when we realized what a great game we were missing. Carrie tried to be brave and smile through the pain as Jeff tried to comfort her.
Jen fought back tears:
And Devin was very upset as well. He even insisted on wearing his soccer uniform to the MOMA since it was game day.
After we gathered ourselves, we took in some more of the MOMA and NYC, although Golaso was always on our minds.
Until next time,
GOLASO!
